Croatia, on the largest Adriatic island Cres, are Lubenice, an ancient mountain village with a great view of the sea and neighboring islands. Medieval fortress, which rises on top of a cliff 378 meters high, is the jewel of Croatia's rural architecture.

Lubenice is prehistoric settlement, which was well fortified and strategically very important city on the island of Cres. Later, during the middle Ages the city was fortified once again and became the center of the parish. Numerous archaeological finds as Egyptian inscriptions or different age coins and jewelry undoubtedly date the origins of this settlement to ancient time.
Today, it is a small local center with 40 buildings and approximately 25 permanent inhabitants; a restaurant and bar operate during the warmer months and weekly musical concerts take place during the peak tourist season.

Lubenice is place with magic atmosphere and specific urban elements which include city gates, the city loggia situated along the bell tower of the parish church, a square with a communal cistern, parish church, cemetery and a number of medieval chapels.
